Bagged 1950 Convertible

    bagged my 50 convertible. It is now laying onthe X frame. Thinking of re-doing the X frame, so it will lay frame. Whatdo you think?

    damn that thing looks tough. got any more picture? how much more room do you have for the tires goin into fender before you hit anything? does it sit the body on the top of the tires now or is just the X member holding it up?

    convert frames suck.the x hangs lower than the frame, about 2 inches.

    seen one at Paso all bagged out and he said it pivoted on the X.

    is that black one the car that was out by the old GM plant across the street in a fab shop?

    I think if you modify the X member it will shake like a bitch :eek: !! They are there to give structure to the car.

    I personally would leave it alone.

    unless you build an entire frame for it.
    the car looks good as it is.

    on the rear? did you do a c notch, or a giant step notch, did you have to cut the floor above the axle at all?
    and is it open driveline, or still the enclosed?

    i think it looks good as it is.
    when the rockers lay on the ground i looks like the car is broken. i just looks mini truckin to me.

    i agree, im not a fan of this whole laying frame fad. it looks ridiculous for one and for this being a traditional board I would like to see one old kustom that layed frame like how people do nowadays. sometimes lower isnt always better, and that also goes for chopping
