I'm from the Lower Mainland of B.C. and have been a car nut all my life. It started way back in the early 50's when I would see a new "rod" or "custom" in town and go to any length to have a look. I can remember being shunned by a lot of the guys that owned them as just a kid looky loo....and to this day I have remembered that, and tried to spend all the time I can with those same kids who come to look at my car at shows, runs, or just parked on the street. I've owned my present Merc for over 25 years now and my wife and I still like to travel in it to shows, runs, etc. I belong to one of the biggest car clubs here in the Northwest....B.C.H.R.A. I look forward to this site and already see people here from my area.
Hi from Duncan BC on Vancouver Island. I don't have anything as old as your car, just my '68 Plymouth Valiant or my '22 Dodge Brothers roadster( all stock and will remain that way till I die ). My Dad was a Mopar mechanic from the '50s till the mid '70's and I saw lots of "30' and '40's and 50's Mopars/Fords/GM/Studebaker/Erskines go through our yard. Nothing left after his passing about 7 years ago and my brother and I are trying to give away a couple of items that nobody seems to want to buy. I figure, who else but a hot rodder can make things work where they weren't designed originally. So please pass this information to anybody you think will be interested. Giving away the following items: Left/right tailights for '68 Chrysler 300, 4 doors for 29 Dodge sedan, 4 "military" style steel wheels for a ??34??? Dodge or Plymouth, a light bar with two headlight pots attached for maybe a late 20's Ford/Chev/Mopar, a rough grille for a ??39?? Plymouth and maybe a rear fender for the same. I can supply digital photos to anybody interested in these items and e-mail them for confirmation of what the heck they are. Thanks for your help and sweet ride.
