The paint....that made the most dramaic difference and the part that I was looking forward to the most....and yeah, I got excited when I saw it done for the first time, and alittle weepy.

  10. It is not any one thing for me. I get enjoyment out of going from a design idea to a completed project in any of the above mentioned aspects of the build. I take as much pleasure out of making a body modification as building a chassis bracket when it works out as I had planned.

I like the brainstorming process because that's where my strengths are. Once I begin to dive in it seems like it's one huge cluster fuck of questions and corrections. I am getting better though. Besides that I would chassis/suspension because I think it's the thing I pay attention to. If a car sits right on the right tires then I can pretty much get into the rest of the car.

Parts collecting is the most fun. like when you find a piece of trim thats bent and its the only one you've been able to find in a couple years of swap meets, and then you buy it. Your buddies are like dude its jacked up, and your like, ive been looking for 4 years dont ruin the moment. "Now that I got a bent one, all i need to do is find a straight one"

I really enjoy suspension work, especially leaf springs.Just a few tools, oxy torch and a few big wrenches and a big fucking hammer.lay the springs on the floor, cut the center bolt, wack with the hammer and the leaves fly apart.Years of dirt and rust escape,ah,what a relief.

I dig dragging it home and chasing parts. I've seen more beautiful country and met more cool people just chasing parts than anything else! And the stories of dragging home another pile of shit with my friends are priceless

Towards the end of every build, I start a punch list on the white board in my shop. By that time, all of the big pieces are in place, just needs final details like building brake lines, plumbing cooling system, fixing all the lights and electrical. I like that part of the build, finishing up the details.

Just a big roller coaster ride for me. I love bringing in a new project and developing a plan for it. Teardown is a pain, I hate old greasy parts. Chassis fab is cool, metalwork is fun for me (who would of guessed) but I detest the mud work and paint. Well, I like to paint but I hate sanding. Best part for me thou is the finally assembly, everything is clean, painted, polished, all the grunge work is over. I don't like upholstery cause I don't do that and I've had more bad experiance with upholsters then good. The good must outwiegh the bad cause I still do it after37 years!

Chassis is my favorite, especially when I get to do something complicated and out of the norm.
