Hi everyone, Been lurking on here a while and I'm about to pick up my first (borderline) HAMB friendly car. It's a 65 Lincoln baby blue hardtop. No pics yet, unfortunately. The story behind the car is my wife's uncle has had it sitting for the last 5 years and let me have it for a good deal. Before that, it belonged to his grandmother (who apparently also owned a 63 Rivvie that he's not parting with . . .) I'm heading out to Virginia in a few weeks to pick it up and drive it back and in the meantime, he's been getting it back into running shape. Looking forward to the 1000 mile drive at 8 or so MPG thanks to that MEL 430.
Welcome from Iowa! Since your in Wisconson already you need to check out the Symco Shakedown in August.
welcome from Milwaukee. 65 was a good year! Be sure to post some pics when you get that Lincoln back up here to sunny Wisconsin.
Okay, I got pics of the car now from the uncle's iPhone. Plans are to fix it up a bit but keep it like it is. I'm digging the baby blue and vinyl top. Sorry if the pics are all sideways or not showing up. I'm still working through this fng-ness
Love that body style. Always been partial to them Lincolns. Welcome from a former cheeshead (Milwaukee & Wauwatosa).
I got the Lincoln to my place yesterday after driving it from VA. The heater regulator blew out just west of Cleveland on the turnpike and I had to get it towed to a place where I could work on it. Anybody know William at Charlie's towing in Norwalk? He's a helluva guy and really helped us out. I couldn't get the heater working again so it was a cold damn drive across the last 4 states. In that last pic, I'm the Q ball on the left and the tall guy is my buddy who helped with the driving. Car on the right in the shop is a 50 Chevy.
