damn,I wish we had decent yards like that out here still. Everything nearby is a u-pull-it with gravel lots, flat rate pricing, and everything's propped up on jack stands. It's convenient but i still kind of miss the days of crawling through the weeds looking for that elusive piece you need for your project.
Damn, I'm glad Al Gore didn't get elected. We still have a few of the "traditional" yards around here, hope they continue until I don't give a F.
I know of a few yards like that but they wont let you walk around, you tell them what you are looking for and if they have it they will pull it and you can pick it up in a few hours. I would love to walk around them to see whats available.
I hear ya .... thanks to all the lawyers out there...great job, guys! How in hell do you know what you're lookin' for until you see it ...???? You know what I mean, you came in for a dash knob but end up hauling home a complete engine or somethin'! I really miss the way things used to be ..... sigh.
i was there couple weeks ago the owner is a really nice guy that yard has so much treasure im tring to go back before x-mas
So what did you buy? I would have needed at least 2 trips with the truck to haul all of the stuff I'd buy out of there. This looks so similar to a yard in Wisconsin that I know of, it's scary.
Take 81 north of Hazleton and get off at the Nuangola exit. Go west 3 or 4 miles. Bob is a nice guy, so you can haggle but don't insult him on his prices. He knows what he has.
I miss yards like that. There used to be one right by my house when I was a kid. I used to sneak away from Mom and Dad and go look at the cars. That is till they'd come looking for me and whoop me for wandering off. Funny the only times I've wandered away from home when I was very very little, were to the junkyard and to a car lot. Proof that I've had the car bug since birth.
That Lincoln Cosmo would be worth grabbing...it appears to be reasonably complete...those are rare... R-
