  4. Good Saturday morning to you all.
Man, amazing stuff in here again. I'm going to throw in a few stuff: a '34 3-window I have drawn and inked a few years ago, has the Munster Coach type injector stacks; and an Ed Roth ad I found in a old June '64 HRM for Schlitz and grins (dig the rustic yellowed edges in the paper of the page).

Thanks, so much, for the comments on the "Vettester" guys!

Stand-out favorites of mine this week are Jannes Lamborghini
and Widewhitewalls poster... but top stuff from everyone this week!

  10. Another great Friday Art Show!As I haven't been photographing much of anything I've been painting lately, thought I'd throw in something from the past. This was done in 1974 and a little background before the pics.

My friend Charlie Burrows has built numerous cars and motorcycles and his son Chris is following in his footsteps. They work out of their small shop in back of their house in Reading Massachusetts and now do mostly bobbers.

Charlie's garage never had heat in it so he used to build his bikes in his living room during the winter. One year he decided to build a T roadster and so room was made an construction began in the living room. When it reached the point that he wanted flames painted on it he called me up to do the job.

I laid out the flames and as the base color was enamel we elected to use it to do the flames as well.I had just finished doing an enamel flame job on a 56 Ford truck so wasn't too concerned.I learnewd the trick of heating the unthinned paint on a hot plate and spraying it out.Blends great and dries very quickly.

The yellow base for the flames gave us a little grief but we managed to straighten it out and blend the other colors over with no problems.A white stripe outline completed the job.

Unfortunately enamel leaves an overspray that is nearly impossible to remove as Cheryl(Charlie's wife)found out.She still is mad at me to this day every time she is cleaning and finds more of it.

Anyway that is the story and hear are the pics. The first one is me(a hundred lbs. lighter)laying out the flames. The cigarettes are long gone.

The last pic is of another T I did for a good friend of mine.It was the first car I striped that would appear in a magazine(Hot Rod Nov.1963)and was striped in 1961.A LONG story behind that one!

Cool stuff this week! It's all good, but my faves are...
Time Bomb Kustoms - Great paintwork on the shiftknobs
    crook - Nice door art
DouG - Killer clock, very imaginative
Sonny - One badass wolf. Still using the Sculpey?
onearmbandit - Nice pinstriping. The logo is sweet- simple & classy lookin'
chad lampert - love the dark outlines & shadows on the geetar
Robin B - Prettiest flake job i've seen & great use of color. The gold leaf on the trumpet ain't too shabby either

Haven't posted for a while. My car is away and my surfboard in play. Here is a touch-up. Previous owner had a Celtic circle with a wave inside. I had to personalize it.
