After living at the hospital for the last 60 or so hours, I am home now and making arrangements for my wife Susan.

Earlier this evening my friend Drew Hollady (Doc's) called to tell me of his intentions to post this on the HAMB.

I've been delving into the photo albums looking at pics of my life with Susan and later; the family image files on the computer, when I decided to log onto the HAMB... I must say that your kind words, thoughts and prayers have brought great comfort to me at this most diffiuclt of times... and I say thank you to each and everyone of you for the compassion you have shown.

I would also like to say how much I appreciate the amazing dedication and kindness of my dearest of friends Drew and Caren Hollady, Jeff Adkins, Alan and Nancy Aug, Billy Valitzski and Mike Ilardi and his wife Olivia. I love you all.

Susan and Diana a few years ago, but one of my favorites. And Susan (Passenger side) in my roadster with our Friend Olivia doing the driving....

 

I hate to read this. She was a great gal. used to see Rich and his wife ever year at Charlotte.

Rich my thoughts are with you and your family

 

We've all heard the saying...

Behind every great man is a great woman....

By no means am I saying I'm a great man.

But I will say, without hesitation, that my wife Susan was a great woman...and for all of us who knew Susan, we know that she was a loving mother, who was proud of her children's accomplishments, and shared in their aspirations and dreams and was a good friend to all the people around her.


For me, Susan shared my dreams ...was my biggest cheerleader and helped me achieve my goals. She was more than my wife; she was my best friend, my partner and the love of my life.

While there is now a great void left in my life and in my heart with Susan's sudden depature from this earth; I can only say that I was blessed to enjoy the time we had together and for that I am grateful.

Rich I am so very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what this is like for you and your family. If there is anything that I can do for you please feel free to let me or the guys know. We are absolutely here for you in any way possible.

I don't really know what to say, I've lost more people than anyone my age should have. All I can say is hold on tight to your friends and your family, their love is what keeps us going! We're all thinking about you and your family out here in HAMBland.

I'm glad you got my PM last night. I would have called if I had your number. (I'll get that later.)

By your second post, I see that you and Susan had what everyone is looking for and few ever find....true companionship with THE person you were meant to be with, a soulmate if you will. Love is the only thing that, the more you give, the more you get back. And since you were blessed by your relationship, it's easy to deduct that both of you gave that gift freely to eachother and those close to you. Keep these memories in your heart....they are one thing that no one can take from you!

I heard it said once that the bigger the hole in your heart, the more the person meant to you. For you to have such a large hole, meant you have a big heart, too. God bless you, Rich.

I met you for the first time at the past Charlotte G.G. show on Sat.. I believe that was your wife who was with you. I can't imagine what you are going through presently .I hope that everything goes as well as possible during this difficult time . You have my most heartfelt condolences .
