rear end ideas

    got a 61 galaxie cruise-o-matic with a 352, stock 3.00:1 rear end and it sucks. what do you guys think i should run

    Get ahold of Malcome, he played with gears in his 62 with two differnt drive trains.

    does any one know where to get a cheep transmission adapter, ex, fe to sbc or fe to diffrent ford tranny?

    No, not without some sort of adapter........maybe somebody makes one, but I've not yet seen one. It would likely be easier to get an adapter to a GM automatic but don't expect it to be cheap. Either Wilcap in California or Bendtsen's in Minnesota would have them if they are available.

    Bendtsen's makes an FE to AOD / C4 adaptor. $850 if memory serves me right. Not Cheap!

  14. C6 is not an OD. What you want is lower gears like 3.73, 4.11 which will give you the acceleration improvement; combined with an OD trans, so you can still cruise the freeway without such high rpms.

    These are all good suggestions. From experience don't run much over 3.5 ratio if you aren't going overdrive if the car is a cruiser.

    i think i go with the 3.55 and keep the cruise-o.
