Hot Rods Let's see pics of custome dashboards and steering wheels in hotrods

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by THR1LL3R, Nov 12, 2009.

  1. Started working on a dash today from a 50 ford for my A. Was also wanting to use the wheel too although I've been told the wheel would be too big for the car....
Anyone else running a large wheel and custom dash?

  6. I'd post photos of the dash I did for my 33 ford pickup but it looks identical to yours. I took 16 inches outta the middle [originally cut it to fit my 28 A-bone sedan] and for a wheel I used the hub and spokes from a 39 ford banjo and welded 'em to a smaller diameter tubular hoop I bought from somebody here on the hamb...covered it with a leather cover. Here's a terrible photo.

We put a 51 buick dash in a 38 dodge truck cab, had to narrow it 12 inches. We also used the original column and and most of the steering wheel out of the buick, just made a new hoop and cut the main spokes to fit. It worked out great...John

'50 Buick dash in my 36 Dodge. Narrowed 14", and I'll be using the door pieces to continue the wrap around look.
