I think you found a pretty good replacement for the white one. It looks right on. Killer wheel choice.

That truck was put together by someone who cared and had talent. No "rat rodder" here. It would be bad ass to find the Olds engine and put it back in. Keeping my fingers crossed for you here in Michigan.

Yeah that would be amazing to find the origional engine........ Do any of you guys remember any details about the engine? 4x2 strombergs? edelbrock intake? cragar?

Did it have a dropped axle in the front? was it chrome? damn My wheels are turning....

Yeah the exhaust is kind if shitty.... the frame doesn't seem to be too hacked up though....

overall its super striaght and clean undernieth....

    thanks!

  5. You might as well chrome that sore thumb of a red shock. :p

I'm pretty sure it was a Cragar manifold. It also had finned valve covers..remember, those were "missing" at first? And i'm pretty sure you are right about the mag too...i think that was another item missing...
Carb's i can't really remember, but for some reason i'm thinkng they were 94's, not 97's....but again, it was almost 10 years ago.
I was pretty sure it was a hot little motor from what we were told though. That was one of the reasons we went to look at it..

Hope "this afternoon's rain" didn't make the drive too bad going home.

  15. Very cool truck. Glad to see it is in great hands.

I had also found a "Survivor" '34 truck and was stoked about driving the wheels off of it. However, life (read wife) got in the way. Not quite as cool as yours, but it will make someone a killer ride.

    Congrats on the find

Well heres an update..... the OLDs has been found, but i don't know that it was ever lost... the guy who has it doesn't want to get rid of it...... I guess all the speed equipment is gone.... anyway all I can do is keep my fingers crossed.....

Man it would be great to have that engine!

Heres some pics I found of my Dad's truck he had in the late 60's/ early 70's..... these pics are the reason I've wanted one of these trucks in the first place.....
