I have a set of Cragar unilugs, they're kinda peely in the middle but the rims are good, you could blast and paint 'em.

It's a Pinto with a rack. This was my first ground-up build and plenty of guys steered me away from straight axle. With 2,000+ miles since April, lotsa highway to the strip and shows, I can't complain. Looked thru "Gasser Wars" book and plenty of 'em in their w/o straight axles. I know it loses some 'cool' points with some, but it works for me.

I recognice that picture That photo is taken at Mantorp park here in Sweden.
That car got a Chrysler 440 under the hood, and made some spectacular take offs when it still was racing.
It is still a racing legend here in Sweden.

Now that has some unlimeted potential!! Reminds me of an old Willys P/U - pre gasser style.

    Good luck with it.

The Manta and Kadett have a 4 on 100mm pattern. That's a difference of 1.6mm: enough to bend wheel studs.

Ok guys, does anyone have a morris minor body in the phoenix area. prefer a pickup, but a 2 door sedan or a van would be fine too. I need one to use for a drag car build. rusted floors ok, no title ok, I just need a full body shell. Let me know. Thanks

Here's an in-progress shot from last year, and one from a few weeks ago at Thompson. A friend caught video of it and it's lifting in 1st and 2nd. Guess that's what all that bouncing was about.
Question: Guys racing these...what type rear suspension do you run? I'm running Jeep leaf springs pushed forward ('ol Mopar style) and it's tight as hell.
    Anyone using traction bars ?

LilMo: Mine uses utility trailer leafs (front halves bolted together) and a pinion snubber to cut 1.40 60' times. Added an anti-roll bar a couple years ago and now it launches consistently (before that, it was like a box of chocolates)...

Im using some trailer leafs in the back with traction bars. My axle is mounted below the springs and I was getting so much pinion roll that I rolled the spring pads on the rear housing. The traction bars helped with this problem, but the housing is now junk in my opinion. I am gonna build a whole new housing when the funds become available and add a torque arm.

Thanks guys, this gives me some ideas for winter. Pinion snubber is a definite! My drive shaft has skid marks from the e-brake cables. Might try a panhard, too. Like Jangleguy, I have to sort out my 'box of chocolates'. The only definite is it going up in the air, after that...all bets are off! We'll find out in Spring.

I have one, A 1960 its painted to look like a turtle, It was a mega watt sterio sound off competition car.It won the Worlds Loudest Car competition in Dallas Texas in 1999.I wish i could post some photos,All the big sound stuff is gone but its still a cool little car. The glass has been replaced with 1inch plexaglass, and the doors had to be bolted shut. the body cracked under pressure twice.

I'm coming in a little late on this thread, but I do have a '59 steering box. I know I'm not near Dallas, but these things do ship. I also have the sprite front suspension w/discs for it as well. Just pm me if you're interested.

  28. I thought these had rack n pinion steering.
Anyone wise me up on these steering boxes?

I have had 5 minors ranging from 57-66 and they were all rack and pinion. I have never heard of or seen a factory steering box on a minor. But I dont know everything...
