Here's a picture of my '65 SS. I've owned this car for 20 years now - school, marriage, kids, several moves and I'm finally getting around to it.
This picture shows what it looked like before the teardown -

Took the body off and went through the chassis:

Plenty of rust repair and a new 406:

I've got a ways to go but the plan is to have it back on the road by summer '10. Simple and fun - Something to haul the family in.

Here's mine. Got it from my Grandma. It was my highschool ride for dates :). Raced the GTO, but this was for cruzing. Been to the drive in, prom, and even took the bride on our honeymoon in it. She had to jump start it with a screwdriver on our wedding day, because the starter solenoid died. The sight of her in her wedding dress with a screwdriver in her hand will be with me forever.

SORRY to ruffle your feather's BUDDY! Umm, didn't know this was a "PC" site my friend, i will make sure to reflect on your words next time i post and also change my previous wording for you. And for what it's worth, i'm pretty sure the rule only pertains to the thread titles, not text within. However there is a rule for the years of car's being posted, and although i do like the 70 it dosn't "fit"..Just saying.

Back to Impala's now. I love this thread and do NOT want to see it go south for something to damn stupid.

  13. That thing was from back in the 80's. Bought it off some potato-head with the axle already in it. No interior and lots of bad workmanship. Fucker would fly! Had a 283 with a 350 Turbo. Could chirp the tires in all 3 gears with that 18000lb tank!!

Sold it at Dunkirk to some guy in PA, never saw it, or my fuckin' license plates again, till I joined the HAMB. Posted those pics and some dude from PA sent me a pm with pics of the car sitting in his buddy's driveway, and it still had my fucking plates on it!!!!

I guess the guy was going through the bigD, and was trying to sell it. Wish I would have kept the info, I would buy it back in a heartbeat. Notice the torque thrusts, $10.00 apiece....DAMN!!-MIKE

Oh ya, I bought this tri-power setup for it from a dude that just got done rebuilding it, complete, for $200!! Bolt and run!!

I remember as a kid seeing this exact car in the neighborhood. I thought it was the cat's meow....... then again that was long, long ago....... great looking car and it did bring back memories. I had a '59, '62 SS and a '65 Impala years ago.

I love this post. Keep the impalas coming. I have a nice 62 hardtop and a 63 Biscayne 4 door. 63 is my favorite year. Anyone in Texas have a good solid 2 door for sale. Also I'm a newbie and will post my 62 when I get a chance.

That car was at the Lone Star Roundup in Tejas.........so it very well could belong to a HAMB'r, but I have shiny moments and can't remember.:D
