I see a couple of fellow southwesterners have posted favorite taco shops too. Lots more than burgers out here. How about JUGOS LIQUADOS on 43rd ave. so of Indian school rd. Great stuff - about ten different types of meat, tons of salsas, and and posters asking for help with unsolved murders posted by the restrooms! Oh, the murders happened right in their parking lot! Probably best during daylight hours. I might add an Industrial Chassis fave for years.

Ain't nothing close to Tommy's in North Carolina. Their Hot Dogs are damn good too. I went to the one across from Bud beer plant, when I lived in Van Nuys. Whenever I go to California a visit to Tommy's is at the top of my list. The imitators suck

I stopped in at this one in Florence OR last month. Burgers were good and the inside decor was fun to look over too. Lots of nice sheet metal hanging from the outside.

The Spelterville Inn in Terre Haute used to have a 3lb cheeseburger. If you ate it and two sides in a half hour you got a T shirt. I never got the shirt.

A place in kingsport, TN called "The Purple Cow" (not the chain rest.) has a burger called mike's intimidator and its a one pounder patty and a buddy of mine ordered a triple(3lbs) , a order a fries, two milk shakes(peanut butter, vanilla), two slices of cheesecake factory originals. Now the previous activities of the evening merited such munchies but thats another story. Standard going for a bite is Pal's. Only a local thing here around Neast Tenn, I think theres some in VA and NC now too.

The pastrami burger at the Hat is fantastic.

But as of now, my favorite burger place is The Back Abbey in Claremont.
Probably doesn't hurt that they have about 50 different Belgian beers to choose from.:D

My favorite is Shopoffs in Syracuse Indiana. Great old time drive up still has car hops. They make the best breaded cheesburgers. Great homade rootbeer.

I got to go to the one on Buckner in Dallas - the others suck.

Anyone remember The Burger House in Seven Points, Texas near Cedar Creek Lake??? They were the best and HAD the best onion rings EVER back in the 90's?

In little ol' Logan, Ohio, ours was the Shake Shoppe. The original neon sign had a man and woman in 1890s dress riding a two-seater bicycle. VERY local enterprise AND well run. They only allowed ONE more Shake Shoppe in neighboring Jackson, Ohio. When Ken & Eileen died, the location became a (ugh) Burger King.

It ain't the same at all.

  30. Little Holland in Tacoma will be back ! After the little stand was torn dorn in August comes word that it will reopen with new owners. Any fact to the rumor of a Sonic Drive in Tacoma, off 6th ave ?
