Yes, I did a search, but no joy. I'm looking to make my Model A sedan a driver, so I'll need windshield wipers. Who's got modern or aftermarket wipers, and how do you like them? Any vendors on the HAMB? Thanks.
I just ran a generic wiper motor thru the panel above the windshield, and installed the wiper arm. something like this http://www.hotrodexpress.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=449 works fine. It is only on one side, but that is all I need to see.
I run a GM motor from a jeep YJ, along with the Jeep Wiper arms and blades Arms are 10 1/2" long, and blades are 11" long they work perfect on my '31 chevy.
i've got the headlight wipers off a saab on both my a's. just use an after market arm and blade. put the hole thru the header and use it instead of the one in windshield.
Using two stock vacuum wiper motors on my '31, mounted a small 12v vacuum pump in the trunk, vacuum not hooked to engine, works good. Vergil
Lee, type New Port Engineering into google, it's the first link that pops up. Bob Galbraith is the owner and a friend of mine, he is VERY sharp and has a sweet setup for the Model A. Tell him John from Morley Performance sent you and who knows? Maybe you will get a discount. He has even made adjustments for chopped top cars. Good luck, John
I spent $ 200.00 for parts for my " original " 29 Model A wiper setup and guess what Rain-X is the BEST !!!!!!!!!!
Hey John, thanks for the heads up about Bob, I'll call him and drop your name. For almost $400, I'll need a nice discount. RainX is starting to look awfully good, but I would like a mechanical solution to the situation in addition to chemical. Also thanks to milwscruffy for the same lead.
Here in Idaho, all street driven vehicles are required to have windshield wipers. There is, however, no legal requirement to have a windshield! So windshield wipers keep the cops off, and Rain-X keeps the rain off. I was kinda wondering about the jeep stuff myself. I'd like to be able to swing out the windshield on my coupe. Do the wiper arms pop off easy or do you need tools.
im not even going to install a wiper motor.. rain X, as i have been told ..with that flat front winshield and the way the wind hits it..the rain just gets pushed down off the window anyways the rain X just helps it along quicker
