I drove the roadster into work in BG this morning - 40 degrees and rain - FUN! BUT, it looks like it's clearing off. I'm working till noon, then heading over to the show. Rich
the weather sucks! rained all day...cars never hit the pavement. lots of good food/drink in our pit today. We're trying to fatten up Earl Schieb. nice meeting Boomerang Racing, The Rodster, Gator, Storm King, Mm. Spoons, Sam F aka Butt Reynolds(banned). Great day hanging with the Ultra Cool Earl Schieb and bitching about all the "wrong" cars At least they came out. Hope the weather improves and you all stop in the pits and say hello. We are at the far end of the pit-side grandstand. The first cars in the Nostalgic Super Stock group...my Faded Memories, the Asphalt Elephant, the Asphalt Angel and my Primer Gray Willys.
Still cloudy, looks like. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...6754,0.036306&t=h&z=15&lci=com.google.webcams
Here's two diff'ernt ways, if you want some variety. 273 miles vs 239 miles, Cin to BG http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sou...91114,-85.45166&spn=4.198501,9.294434&t=h&z=7 This route is shorter and you get to see some prime horse farm country. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sou...1593,-85.275879&spn=4.226044,9.294434&t=h&z=7
weather straightened out by early afternoon. Finally got to make some runs. Lots of great cars today, although tough for the fast cars to stay hooked. Starting line was great. Both my cars were spectacular, IMHO. But it was all due to my great crew chief and friend Earl Schieb. He put a nice polish on the cars and they cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Great to see NotsojollyRoger and his lovely bride today
Great to met Bobwop. He gave my son and I the low down on his cars in the pits. Good luck on your runs Bobwop..
THAT'S an understatement----y'all are gonna freak when you see Bob's Willys on the back bumper Incredible...... (somebody's GOT to have a pic of that---post it, PLEASE!) And Bob's S/S car.....off the line, left front wheel up about 3 feet, right quarter panel trying to touch the ground, whole car twistin' like a brahma bull. Bob, thanks for a great weekend
damn i was just joking. but there was sleet/freezing rain in the area.i don't think i have ever been as cold as saturday. still had a great time.carlos froze his little ka-honas off. should have used him as fire wood good showing of hambers there. going to thaw out fingers and toes now
sorry for the bad resolution. These are photos of photos. What a treat having the famous Earl Schieb as my crew chief this weekend!
Bob- You really put on a show. The two runs we saw were fantastic! You're a hell of a driver. It was good to see you again.
my racing buddies, and myself, were all impressed with that sexy Sixty Ford Mike was hauling me around in. He did a great job installing the Tbird scoop and blending the paint. Nice detailing on the interior and great choice with those wire wheels (better than the GAY wheels that Louie likes). If Mike wasn't in the pits with me, his car would have certainly sold. If interested, shoot him a PM. Cool ride. Chicks dig it.
