My pop wants to know if any of you guys know how to lower the front of his stude. It has the planer front suspension. He just wants it level with the back. ITS DOWN 3 INCHES. Thanks ed

What if you just pull some leaves out of the spring pack?

Actually, on my Stude, the rear leaf springs were badly sprung, resulting in a nose-up stance. Rather than re-arching them, for about the same money, I got new ones from Eaton, and the approx. 3" rise in back fixed the stance. So before you decide to lower the front, be sure the rear is OK.

That's the system that utilizes a transverse leaf spring which also functions as a lower control arm, right? It looks like you could gain some just like you do do with an I-Beam Ford: reverse the spring eyes. Of course you're in for a complex teardown to do that. The whole system has a look of "difficult to change".

The latest Corvette uses a planar suspension in the front, so it's not that funky.

Corvettes still use A arms, top and bottom, just supported by a transverse monoleaf correct?

The stude actually uses the spring as the lower link, no lower A arm.
