My pop set a new land speed record at the maxton mile yesterday in his 41 studebaker commander coupe.he went 77 mph in a mile in x0/pro to set a new record. Maybe that's not fast, but yall ain't got no idea how proud i am of that old dude! It was priceless!!! He said we are goin back in oct. Life is good!

  9. Hey Ed!

Heck man, you don't know how P R O U D ALL of us Studebakers guys are! Just friggin' A W E S O M E! Please tell your Dad that we're gonna make sure that his accomplishment is being included in our on-going Studebaker racing history archives. We would be honored to include any/all pictures he has in the archives with the details.

In fact, mebbe we can get you to give us ALL the details here, at the Racing Studebakers forums? http://racingstudebakers.com/stl-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1753

I love the H.A.M.B., just because of stuff like this! It don't get no better!

OH! Hopefully we'll be having the details from the Studebaker competitors who were at the PSMCD this weekend, on the forums too! It sounds like it was ANOTHER successful event!

  13. It don't have a thing to do with the speed, it has to do with the spirit. What a cool story. I will be there in the fall if possible and i will shake his hand.

At 65 I haven't got near the "time in grade" that he does but the smile on his face speaks volumns. Hope he is around to set a few more records.

  15. Please pat him on the back for me. I love it when people continue to pursue their passions like he is. Of course I also like the fact that it has to do with going fast in a car. I'm a mere 58 yrs old and truly hope that I can keep going like he is. Too cool.

    Well done. Congratulations!

  18. Sounds to me like you need to sign him up on the HAMB and espically the Old Fars Group.
Congrats to you both on his accomplishment. Getting that basicly stock Studie to go that fast is as easy as one would think.
