Lets have a lil fun and take a guess on what date and time the HAMB will reach its 100,000th member. I will start it at Jan 1 2010 at the stroke of midnight bringing in the new year!

I can feel the ozone being ate away as we speak.

  8. Just to give you idea, your number 64,680 so since you came on the board in oct last year there has been 30,000 more peolpe join !

  9. The real question should be how many of the 92,000+ are really active? It's my thought that 25% to 40% have little or no involvement. Folks sign up, hang around for awhile, then move on to other things. Either that, or there is a huge silent majority who read, look at photos and NEVER post.

  13. When I joined the Hamb on 1/3/2003,, so I'm gonna predict the hunderd-thousand mark will be reached on 1/3/2010.

Amazing how at that time I thought my membership number of 1182 was about as big as it would ever get!,,Man,was I wrong,,and glad of it! HRP

and what does the 100,000 hamber get? it might take some time to find out who that member is. some people join and wait awhile until they get around to posting. i'm thinking it will come before the end of this year.

  15. You are right,,at one time there was a members page that listed a thru z and there were page after page,,,,a lotta names were there that had signed up and NEVER been back. HRP

    It looks like I'm #45,559.
I'd say April 18,2010 My sisters birthday if the average since I joined is right.

As of 08:18 this morning 9,19,09 we had 79,297
That's an average of 2083 a month since I joined in Dec 07

Now out of that 90 something thousand, how many are actually active and how many have joined but never made a post on the board?

My guess was on the member figure of 92,000 state above. There are only 83,097 members...

so in that respect I'll say April 24, 2010

Since we are all over the place on the current total, exactly how do we figure that number out?

I got my total by going to the header of the members list http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/memberlist.php

^ Thats a good point, I was informed that if you put the cursor on the members name that the numbers at the bottom of the screen were the actual member #. I see what you said and it appears that the number is lower than the 92k by about 12k. Maybe Ryan will jump in to help out here. Thanks Boss!

  30. Just think if all 100k members are regular posters... Wow! You think the HAMB moves fast now! Then all the FNGs would gang up on the old timers... In short, pandemonium!
