Are 216 and 235 flywheels interchangable? I have a 216 straight shift and need to convert a 235 into one

12v flywheels are different than 6v flywheels. The starters use different gears, the flywheel teeth are different pitch and diameter. So pretty much anything from before 55 is different from anything 55 and later. Mostly 216 are before, mostly 235 are after.

Will a 235 flywheel bolt onto a 216 and vice versa? Yes, but you'll probably have to use the matching starter motor, especially if using a flywheel from a 12v car.

I think (would have to go check the pile) some 216 flywheels are 4 bolt, 235's 6 bolt.

No problem, just trying to help.

But I think it was a stupid question. I did a search for "216 flywheel" and 3 pages of threads popped up, any number of which will answer your question.

Like I said earlier, patience dude - get off your ass and look

Its not a problem. I just said with a little patience and if the man did a search he would have found several PAGES of threads that answered is question. I'm sure if he searched "235 flywheels" several more pages would have come up. and his first comment is 30 minutes after he first posts up?

All I was saying is that the question was already answered dozens of times noob, and if that makes me a jerk for pointing it out, so be it - I wouldn't run my mouth about being a jerk. I saw the "paint it black comment" before you edited it......

  17. The search engine here is like going into the Library of Congress, tons of information for sure. In fact, I rarely post questions on here because of all the previous discussion, I am so happy to have the HAMB Library at my finger tips!..........

  18. Funny shit, you dont get an answer in half an hour, and you bitch, then you get pi55y because because you got called out on a question you could of asked jeeves
for the answer, much less used the local search function, please....

To make it worse, the questions sucks, it doesnt even tell what your trying to do, other then change the flywheel. Its a yes or no question, and a yes or a no wont tell you shit. If you dont have the patience to write a well thought out question, why should i take the time to answer it?
