i bumped into a couple 3/4 ton rear axles with wide 5 drums, open drive shaft yokes, oldtimer says there kinda "rare" i searched the archives sounds like maybe milk truck rears? with gearing 4.11 and up.anyways what are they worth? i was considering them for a couple 36 p/u i'm building.says they're off a 47 he thinks, cool or not?
You meant a Timken rear? banjo style but 2 halves with no center section They were used alot in old stock cars,,nothing super special in value bout $150 if someone wants it off set ones are willys,,
so what ya think i'm gonna be runnin flatties in both, Z'd frames, lookin for traditional look, thought the wide 5's with 16" rims might look cool. he's lookin for 100 bucks a pop.
It they are ready to go $100,,and personally I think they look great under and ol car have seen them painted and even chromed,,def. different,,and people keep trying to figure out what it is,,lol If he has a few make a deal on em at $75
yeah thats what i was thinkin, biggest thing i've looked at a lot of builds on pick ups and haven't seen any thought something a lil different might be cool
well come to find out it wasn't a wide 5. supposedly out of 1tons,reg5 pattern with ujoint yoke drive. pic attached
1/2 Ton stuff also known as comerical. Ratio most likely 4.11 may be 3.78 or 4.44. Still probably a deal at a C note if they turn.
