Ive got a 40 chevy truck with the stock front suspension. It has drum brakes on the front but the hubs and drums are 5x4.75 bolt pattern not 6 lug. Ive been told that they may be off an early 50s chevy car. Im trying to figure out what it is so I can buy shoes and wheel cylinders for it. Im ready to drive this heap.

My dads got the same truck, we put 1954 chevy car juice brakes (drums) on it they are direct replacement. These are 5 on 4.5... hope this helps.

Chevy 5-lug would be 4.75 as stated. Early model Huck brakes have the adjuster at the top of the backing plate. Later model(51-?) Bendix brakes have the adjuster at the bottom.
