This 56 Savoy inspired me to build my 54 Royal. Infact, I think the new owner is a HAMBer as well.

    Hi there,
I have a 56 Desoto Suburban 4dr wagon that came out in New Zealand. These cars are essentially 56 plymouth suburban's with a desoto styled front. Right hand drive of course. The front of this makes it so unique. I've never seen another grill like it, although I have heard of others here in NZ. I guess you would describe the grill as a mix of both the US 55 and 56 Desotos.
I hope its ok to post a desoto here that is based on a plymouth

that desoto is definetly a neat wagon, i like that grill as well... I like how the turn signals are part of the grill vs. mounted with rubber like on the 56 plymouths

Well I have finally taken the plunge. I will soon be taking possession of my 1955 Plymouth sedan. Can't wait to see it in my driveway. Still working out the delivery details and will post pics in a week or two when I get it. :D

Good luck getting 1,500 I can't even get 800 for my 2dr. and it has less rust then yours. No one seems to want them.

  21. If mine was a 2 door from Colorado I,d be keeping it! Fact is way up here there are very few buildable cars left.Barn finds are usually high bucks thanks to Barrett-Jackson. The money goes to my kid living in Toronto now....he needs it.:(

I've owned my 56 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer 2 door hardtop for 24 years and currently its all taken apart for some much needed custom work. I drove it everywhere until 1999(Leadsleds 86,87,89,90,93,94,95,98, and Paso in 94) I had it subframed in 1988 and the guy set it in incorrectly and it sat TOO HIGH but I've changed it by Zing the front clip 4 inches and so much more including sinking in some 59 Caddy tail lights welding the lower pan to the body, frenching the license plate between the bottom of the trunk lid and pan(plus I've had to cut some of the license plate as well)Here are 2 pix one at Bonniville and the other in Paso.

If anyone has a running driving '55 or '56, I've got a '64 Comet with a ton of work done to it that I may be interested in trading for it. If anyone's interested drop me a PM. I'm located in Central Florida.

Potter is about 25 miles directly south of Green Bay, like 5 miles south of Brillion if you know where that is.

The colors on my '55 I picked from paint chips, it was originally yellow and black with two tone green interior, but it looked like a taxi cab. I like the colors, but the paint already has some issues, and the car has given me so much trouble this year, I've left it sit for the last month.

  29. Dude! Sold it this morning for $1200.00! The guy said he just wanted it for parts, mainly the trim.He was shocked to see it still had a T-3 in it....:D
