  3. Have you drove it? It looks very good. I have been wanting to do this to my uni-body for awhile. Any clearance issues, or bumpsteer?

  4. I bet it rides nice ;)

Looks good! I love that year SWB pickup!

Fuckin sweet man, when are you gonna deliver her to me? Hahaha...just for future reference, how much did you drop it? How did you drop the front and rear? Did you run into any problems or issues along the way? My neighbor's trying to help me score a '58 Ford pickup, and I wanna know how much of a hassle it was to drop it before I try buying it...that's one solid lookin truck, and I'm diggin the drop...good job...

    thanks guys

it amazingly rides smooth! it'll be better after i replace the shocks
make a drop drag link, its got a little bump steer but not bad,

the rear sits on the bump stops but rides better than hydraulics, no neck jounce!

it was really easy so far,
spring under axle frt n rear about 3-4 inches
i got the idea of the hamb n it has a little axel flex when turning but not bad,
i had itr up 2 55 and just has a little steering wheel slop.

Oh, and I have a set of 4 Ford pickup lug pattern aluminum slot mags that'd look bitchin with the rake/stance you got going on...I wanted to use em on my truck, but I'm running an inline six, so slot mags are kinda too drag race styled for a 6 banger beater truck...I'll wind up using stock wheels and baby moons or stock center caps...you interested?

I'll keep em then, just in case one of my Pontiac motors finds its way into the engine compartment...I got a feeling the 300 inline 6 I got wouldn't be as useful in a pickup as a Poncho motor...

Just a heads up man, if you switched your front leaf spring from the top of the front axle to underneath the axle, you might want to double check your caster, it might be off by 5 degrees or more and give you some of your steering issues...just figured I'd throw that out there...

Yes, that is my shop truck. I was able to find a 3 1/2" Mor dropped straight axle to do some trade work for, with a mono leaf spring. The one thing I did was run some front coilover shocks that gave me a better ride. The rear has c section that I will be redoing to convert to a fourlink with a wishbone and will be narrowing the rear so I can run some Hurst Racing Tires 30" x 10" x 16".

Sorry I forgot to say Thanks, I made some 4 1/2" c sections, but I am going to be updating the whole chassis pretty soon. The truck is going become a street /strip truck to play with. Building a Blown Ford Hemi motor for it.

No, Right now I have two cars on my two jig tables and I have three more waiting. So I might just build a smaller table and work on my personal toys on the weekends and nights, but I have to take care of my parents too, so its kind of up in the air right now.
