I am still working out kinks in the driveline, adding glass and such, but for the most part it is together and driveable. Let me know what you think....

Thanks for the feedback. I struggled with the stacks for a while and made sure that they are easily removable should I get tired of them. Lakes pipes are an option in the future. I would love to have some WWW tires as well, but did not have the $$$ to spend on them at this time.

  8. nice truck!!! go with lake pipes. LOSE THE STACKS, distracts-takes away from the truck.

    Opinions, like well you know.

I think it the stacks look right on the truck. They work well with the paint. I think the proportioning of the truck make them look right at home and not forced.

I think back to when I saw my first completed plastic 41 Zephyr that was being made, the owner had a caddy in it. A know it all says, Id a put a chevy in it. The owners reply "When you one put what ever F-IN (cleand that up) motor you want in it."

So when you build your own truck, you can put lake pipes on it.

I like it the way it is

    Neat truck

Know why the pipes work for me? Cause they're the only gimmick and done with restraint, most to-the-formula cars can be improved with one well done gimmick. Well done sir.

And mine is the only one that doesn't stink.

    Just kidding.

My OPINION is the truck is bitchin', but would look less RR and more trad w/o the stacks.
Or paint 'em black to match the rest of the black on the truck...

Otherwise, cool build, I like it.

Thanks for the feedback, fellers. I knew the pipes would polarize people one way or the other....that's why they are removable with four bolts on each side. I like 'em and will leave them for now since they are the first (and only) configuration fabricated. You will see it morph in the future as I try new things though.

Do y'all have any thoughts on pinstriping, etc?

You don't need pinstriping. The stacks dominate as the primary decorative feature. Know when to say when.

I think some striping on the cowl, top of the grill shell and on the tailgate would bring it all together for me. But to each their own.

As soon as I saw those stacks I knew you were from TEXAS!! Usually I wouldn't spring for the stacks, but it's got a little Texas flare, I say run 'em! The truck looks tight. Have fun with it.
