  2. 32 Ford Phaeton for me.

Sister's got that beat all to heck and gone.
She came home in a 36 Ford five window with warmed over flatmotor and a chopped top.
Pretty sure dad's 36 was one of the first chopped street cars seen in SoCal.

    Circa 41-42 fwiw....

1970 Cobra that my dad bought new a month prior. The car has 39,000 miles now and still has never been dealer prepped. It's mine now.

A 37 Ford sedan, in a blizzard. We lived in a tarpaper shack, 1 room with a wood stove, no electricity just a coal lamp. I was born a few months before the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and my dad enlisted in the Navy shortly after and was in the Pacific as a deep sea diver. I still have a pic of the 37 somewhere in my stuff and I remember a picture of my grandpa hooking up a team of horses to pull it into town to have it repaired once.

My dad was off to war (WWII) and I was brought home in my Uncle Earl's 41 Oldsmobile coupe. He was home on leave (USN) and slated to ship out a few days later. My mom said she'd have had to call a cab otherwise.

  25. Brand new 1939 LaSalle Coupe.

LaSalle was basically a Buick with a Cadillac 322 cu. in. V-8 engine. It was one of the hottest and sportiest cars you could buy in 1939.

LaSalle was discontinued by GM after 1940 because they determined that it was taking more sales away from Cadillac than it was the competition (which was Lincoln and Packard).

Came home in a '50 Merc two door in 1953, a couple of my brothers came home in a taxi because my dad worked for the U.S. Customs and couldn't get the time off....BTW, I think that's the only two door car my dad owned after he got married...
