Wynn's#1 I agree, the Gillette car in the picture isn't the ex Traylor. I blew up the pic and can't see the distinctive traits of that car. The front end also doesn't have the geometry I remembered.

    sorry for the bad call.

[IMG]Nice Early photo of the Strupp Miller, the restoration has a later tail that just doesn't look as nice as this early one IMO.

That's Johnny Hannon in 1934. In '35 he was approached in the pits at Indy to drive in the race, one in which he lost his life.

That's correct; Don Gillette's car was the Leitenberger car - that's from Don, himself, in about 1963. Never did ask why he did the "halo" roll bar. Don pretty thoroughly altered the car to fit in the Pontiac, and then got it "altered" further when he took a hard shot on the tail

Check out the car.. "Hot Rod" (Push car by the looks of the bumper) on the right. Talk about an EARLY HOT ROD!!! Looks chopped, lowered,White tires and Guide headlights.. Pretty neat.

    Great pics by the way!

Does anyone know how many Edlebrock cars were raced in the 50s? I'm pretty sure one made it's way to Australia and ended up staying here.

Why do you suppose they ran the tailpipe down under the rear axle?
The radar is picking up a line of thundershowers which extends from a point 9 miles NNE of Sicorgus, New Jersey, along a line and 6 miles either side of the line to a point 5 miles SSW of Fonduloch. However, the radar is also picking up a squadron of Russian ICBMs... so I wouldn't sweat the thundershowers.
