History 1938 Ford Standard Coupe Delivery ..I like it

    Found this extremely interesting ...1938 Ford Coupe with a Delivery Box !!! .. Nice score 68GMC thanks for the pics.

    Yes The B/W pics is a Chevy

    Wheres the fender with the notch for the spare? I dont see it in your pics...interesting find nonetheless.

    Not bashing it but it looks like a homebuilt to me. The Chevy's as pictured in the ad were just a std coupe with the decklid removed and the box slid in. The 1/4 panels were not cut down. Looks like this one was done at wartime for extra rations...

    Look at the picture in the ad. That is a 36 Chevy pictured in the ad. The actual car here is a 38 Ford.
     

  5. The picture is a Chevy and also factory. The 1938 0r 39 Ford coupe looks to be homemade with the back of a coupe cut off with a torch. I was a little slow on the upload.

    The box appears to be from a Model A. It's a homemade truck alright.

    There was a factory Ford setup like that, but I think only in 1937. It is extremely rare.

    I have been told it was a WWII gas ration trick. Trucks were allowed more gas, so people converted their cars to trucks.

    Thats a Deluxe. You wouldn't think the Deluxe would be made into a truck, but you never know. Looks interesting though. I kind of like it.
