Building a 40 Ford truck and need some ideas of tire and wheel sizing, stock frame, Mustang 2 front w/ 2" dropped spindles, Chevy 10 bolt rear stock body.

    Thanks for your help.

No pics, but mine runs 15 x 5 fronts with 165R15 tires, 15 x 8 rear with P265/75R15. Previously ran P285/70R15; they are a little wider, and about the same height (hard to find locally now). There is not a huge amount of extra room around them, but they fit without rubbing. The rear fenders might have had a touch of work on the wheel opening (hard to recall; had it a long time).

My truck sits moderately low, with a little downhill rake. Not what everybody wants, but works for me.

For what it's worth, the tires have just about the same overall stagger as those on my roadster in the avitar.

  3. Here's my 41.

    6.40x15 Front. 8.20x15 Rear.

Here's a couple of shots of the same truck. One are Rallye wheels built by Marsh racing in Siloam Springs Arkansas. Chevy type Rallye but dual bolt pattern with early ford hubcaps adapted. Other shot are the wheels that were on the truck when I purchased it, repainted the wheels and added screwon moons and wide whites.
Truck is running MII frontend but stock spindles, if tire size will help let me know which set.

Fronts are 195 65R15 rears are 235 75R15 Fronts could probably be a bit taller if wanted. But remember you have dropped spindles and I don't. Also depends on the wheel back spacing. Rubbing on the front of 40's is a pretty common problem.
