Does anyone remember a tech post that described how to remove the long tail housing and shorten a cad/lasalle transmission and then use a ford transmission mount. It was a scanned article from an early hot rod magazine. Jog anyone's memory? Thanks.

    pretty simple stuff
    as a matter of fact,
I think you pretty much summed it up

I'll try to find the one magazine article I have
but it doesn't have a lot of technical info

in the meen time here is snapshot of a couple I've picked up all ready converted

i was reading that magazine yesterday!, anyhow

how about do this change to a closed driveline, and use the rear end of an early flathead truck tranny with opendrive...

i have 2-3 or something long tailshaft lasalle trannys (and 2 1950 olds ones also ..) and an truck tranny laying around in the garage i figured i was going to test to use the opendrive part of thatone on one of the trannys...

There is a better article with dimensions for the cuts on Ford part to make it fit the cad rear bearing properly...the one shown relies more on Permatex than fit there. I think I've sent it out to a number of people on here...no scanner.
