is there a readily available modern replacement for the old rope seal?

I know of at least two HAMB vendors offering rubber seals for the early Olds'
but 'was hoping to grab one at the local parts store...

    seams someone said late '50s 318.. ?

ok, so I finaly made time to do this yesterday,
been driving around for an hour or so today
must say it's a bit wierd
I keep looking under the car
    and it's clean and dry
where there was an anoying drip ready to fall,
or a spot on the ground
    now nothing
    dry as a popcorn fart

    thanks for the tip!

if i figured out why it didnt work, my crank is a 371 shes bigger and its a different part number, it fits the 303 like a glove. and the reason i didnt want to buy a best brand seal because the fel pro is 12 dollars the best is 50 plus shipping.
