my model t project is done with mock up and time to tear it down for paint, but dont know what direction i want to go with it. i want to paint the frame and suspention gloss black but i dont know what color to paint the body and bed and moter. i was thinking just leaving the body bed and moter the color they are but i dont want it to look like a rat rod that was just thrown together in a weekend. I know i want it to be traditional nothing to nice any help would be apretiated. the blower is just for shits and giggles.
i have a set of 1939 ford wide five with caps, i have drums for the front and i was going to get adapters for the back.
What color do you like???? Red oxide primer ,or any other primer color will get ya the "what color are you going to paint it?" crap....shiny scratches and needs some care and attention.....I don't like to clean and wax cars myself...I like to drive them..so I like a suede basecoat or on a hotrod ...primer is finer.
Flat satin black , skinnies all the way around red rims , red motor . Any color as long as you enjoy driving the car ! A fancy paint job doesn't make it drive any better , just less time to drive it because you have to keep washing and waxing the damn thing !
anybody ever use or deal with kustom shop's hotrod flatz?? or know of a better way to go about suede paint??
I just started putting my sedan back together after shooting a fresh coat of RM "UNO" Matt black. I used three coats of PPG DP90 as a sealer/base, then shot three coats of the Matt black. It looks pretty good and that RM UNO is hard as hell so it should be pretty low maintenance. I should have the car back on the road this weekend.
Good stuff..easy to use, guys are helpful on the phone too. They have a color called moss green ( i think) that is really nice.
I would two tone it with 22" rims and lambo doors, (LOL) Kidding i like the green with black steel rims maybee spider caps
got my wide five wheels mounted, well at lest one still need another front drum . changed the look of the whole car.
Seriously consider shiny. Just a regular single stage. It's cheap and not hard to take care of. Yep, I find suede harder to care for than shiny.
decided to pant the frame and suspention components black and just drive it like that till i get the cash to paint and plate as i go.
