Finally have a my new ride. Thanks to Mr.Man in part for buying the 61 triumph I can't wait to start working on her. Any pics out there of other continentals that you guys have would be great! and were do I find parts? I have seen only a couple of places on the internet. Steve
Thats pimp in a presidential way... Kennedy was shot in a lincoln. And ya gotta love the factory sucicide doors.
yes yes! now I can park the 49 Ford cuz the flathead is getting tired .. and I can work on it over the winter.
Man, I had a 64 that I rolled around in when I was about 19 (aprox. 15 yrs ago). Always had a blast in that thing. We could have 3 guys in front, with 4 guys in back, and everybody had room! Of course that was on a bad night, on the good ones you could fill it up with girls real quick! Enjoy it, those things are bitchin'. The only drawback is that everyone gives you the Kennedy story. You won't be able to pump gas in the sonofabitch without hearing that Kennedy got shot in one. It's still worth it.
Here's a link to My Favorite Custom Lincoln...! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=758&item=6927989170&rd=1 Mark
They are awesome...I hope to own a convertible some day. Even Carmelo Anthony recognizes the pimperishness of them...hes even got the gangster super wide whites on it. haha Greg
I like em..... there is a convert here somewhere also in white. if ya get bored of the Kennedy refs just get some brain splatter airbrushed on the trunk......
Nice car, you got one hell of a project to work on. Lincoln Parts Intl, Baker's Auto, and John Cashman in florida are going to be your best sources for parts. Be warned, not much is cheap with these landsharks. I would have been better off selling mine and buying the car I truly want, but I cannot part with her. In its current wheel & tire setup: Looking normal: Yeah I know it needs to be dropped. Too many other things to address first.
What a beautiful car man, congrats...looks great like it is, especially with those fat whites...my opinion, just keep in stock...they came from the factory looking great, and no need to screw that up Get ready for the gas bill, but other than that they are an overall "inexpensive" car to use as a daily driver (I got 67, and I know plenty of other owners here in Fla.) Enjoy! Mike
Lots of great pictures! I love them Black, but looking at keeping her cream. What ever I do it will be on wide whites. Hope it makes it to billet proof and back.
Just bag it and roll. Sometimes less is more. I guess you could do a crazy panel job, flaked roof, Astros and skinnies...but I'd go w/ option one and leave her classy.
Black and pearl white are the only colors for those lincs in my opinion... maybe gold, but then again... no.
