My good friend Bruce did the seat in this car a year or so back and it turned out perfect. It was exactly what I had in mind- less is more. He finally did some door panels for it, he is going to be doing some kick panels and the panels between the seat and door as well, but is having surgery and will be down for a month or 2. He does GREAT work, craftsmanship is top notch. I am unsure of the door panels, maybe a little too busy? He did a stock Model A style door panel, square insert with reversed corners but swung it big around the crank handle. I don't know, may not fit the style of car I have??? Bruce is a hell of a guy and I don't want to hurt his feelings at all. The panels are growing on me, I just don't want people to wonder "what the hell is going on with the door panels?" What do you guys think??
Don't forget the escutcheons for the inside door handles and the little u-shaped trim piece for the door dovetail notch.
Chris, Love the seat, for sure. The door panels may have to grow on you, Maybe the look will change when you add other panels. I've also been wondering what your running for wheels and tires, and how you accomplished that delicious stance. Thanks Jeff
I think they look a little out of place, just floating around. Im sure when you do the rest of the interior it'll fit better. they do look realy nice though.
i like it. and i think the other guys are right when they say that when the rest of the panels are in it'll look just right.
I dig them Chris. They look good. I am looking along the same lines as those panels when it comes time for interior. I always like seeing pics of your coupe, its very much what I am shooting for.-Weeks
Thanks a lot guys. I REALLY appriciate the input. I usually know exactly what I want, but with these, I am just kinnda stumped Hotrodjeep- Tires are a 7.50x16 rear and 5.50x16 front. Has a 4" dropped axle with reverse eyed spring front, rear is just a simple T spring Pasadenahotrod- I have the C clips for around the dovetail, but never knew about for around door handle. Hmmmm.... Tman- At first I wanted plain smooth panels. Bruce told me they'd look cheap, look like any joker could do em. So I told him to do what he thought looked right for the style of car. Caddilac Dave- Yes, Bruce is a top notch stitch man. Does it in his garage as a hobby!!!
Also you'll notice the seat has a little shine to it, I gotta get some conditioner on the door panels to shine em up a bit and match the seat
I've got the carpet and insulation stuff for the floors. Gotta pick out the vinyl that I want for the seats/door panels. I'm thinking a real tobacco brown color.
I like the seat and the color you chose. I'm sure it will all come together when you get the other panels in. Love the roadster, btw. Can't wait until you get that thing on the road.
