What size tires are you running, also any pics of the rear spring setup?

Today I put the body of my 35 back on the frame after installing a s10 rear needless to say it sits very high. Im looking for options to get it lower

Gary, I used 225/70 x 15 with an 8.5 wheel that is too wide that might work with an S10 they are very narrow. I used a GM G body rear. I'll try to put all of my pic's on an album but need some help from Nash or someone that knows how to do it... Thanks, todd

Little bit more work on my body. Doors hung and reinforced on inside, hinges and latches installed. Using '32 ford handles--because I had them and they are neat. Hinge post completed and the windshield surround pretty much finished. The top channel is removable to install glass. Joe.

Getting close to trying the body back on the frame. Does anyone have a rumble seat trunk latch or parts they might want to part with?? Need a latch, striker, and handle. Thanks, Joe.

"Re: '31-2 chevy coupe splash aprons
Just and FYI for you.....coupes and sedans are the same....but 31 and 32 are different. You are building a 31 correct? I'd trade you a 32 for a 31..."
    <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

A while back you posted this on one of my threads, what's the difference between the '31 and '32 running board splash shields? Will the '32 work on a full fendered '31 with '31 fenders? Thanks, Joe.

I have a question about the running board splash aprons too...

On my 30 Coupe, it came with 2 drivers side aprons, both supposed to be NOS and 2 different lengths. In the pic below, the one on top is longer than the one below, by 3 inches or so(I didn't measure and they are buried in the shed right now. The original one that was still attached to my running board was in very poor condition with the ends rotted off so I couldn't match it up with that...

Any idea on what is what?

Definitely not a '29, That's a '31 hood. and '30-31 visor. The wheelbase changes in '31 to 109" but that's not a surefire check since someone has swapped the rear axle.

In the post 495 on this thread. The 30 hood side shown on the ground confirms that your girl friends car is a 31 independence AE 3 window coupe. And not a 29 or 30. The 29 front sheet metal between the frame horns is all wrong for your car...ghost

the shorter of the two splash aprons should be for your 30. The longer one should be 2 inches longer and would probably fit the longer 109 inch wheelbase 31

Does anyone want my 31 2 dr coach glass for patterns? I just got all of mine back from the glass shop and it looks like a fit.

Just got started on a 29 chevy coach that my dad has had apart for the last 25 years. Amazingly, after 25 years of storage, in about 4 differant garages, a few attics, we only seem to be missing the rear sill piece of wood.

These are the beginning and end of Day 1. The wood in the second picture is mostly just clamped together till we get a better idea of how things need to be aligned.

I started my 28 out with tacking the body together and then building a 1/2 x 1/2 frame on the body panels(temporary will need more strength), but I have a coupe and it had no top. my top came off of a 29 oakland, plus I chopped the shit out of mine.

mine has a long way to go still but its been a fun project, when all the wood is gone and you have no pattern you have to play 1 to 1 scale modeling.

I have a Pontiac that is similar. What did you do about the deck lid. Did you just slide it back into the passenger compartment? If its like mine. Those lids just had a boot to seal them which really sucked for weather.

    Gary,

Thanks for the kind words. We are pretty excited about the project. Dad did a lot of chassis work 25 years ago, and we ahve collected a large number of pieces over the years so things should go pretty quick once we get the body figured out.

The front axle has been dropped 4", it has a chevy II rear end, disc brakes up front, vega steering, and a 327 ready to go.
