Flathead Intake Question...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ejay$, Apr 19, 2009.

  1. My friend is building my flathead Ford motor and he just noticed the block only has like 14 threaded intake bolt holes instead of how many the aftermarket intake has...? Apparently it's missing like 6 holes that the intake has.... We checked two other blocks we have and they have the same amount of missing holes! Any help would be appreciated b/c I really don't want to have someone "tell" me every time I stop that I forgot to put bolts in the intake. (our idea so far is to put some bolt heads in the extra holes to fill them in)

ETA: it's a late style motor...

Many aftermarket intakes included holes for bolts for either the early or late flattie motors. Just use the ones for your late block and leave th erest empty.

I always use some short bolts glued in the empty holes just for looks!

So, I should't have drilled and tapped all those extra holes in my block?!!
