wait a minute, wait a minute. i've seen my fair share of hot rod publications. she couldnt have been in a magazine. she aint all covered in goofy tattoos, she dont have a single piercing, and didnt they all wear some kind of lingerie whilst turing wrenches? i dont think modern, responsible media outlets would further an inaccurate image of females, would they? either way,....shes a pretty girl, living the hot rod life. cant beat that. thank you mr peterson, and thank you anita. and thank you ryan, another great photo.
she may have had on an ankle bracelet, and a little tat on her ankle. I believe that was in style then.
Here's a '35 Ford 2 door with original style interior I found with Google. With the handle in the position it is, I don't think the lady was in a '35.
I'll bet she's still cute/ Linda Vaughn's still cute and will be for a loong time. Didja ever notice how many more cuties there are the older ya get. God's reward fer lastin.
Just dredging up some stuff from my foggy memory, but I don't remember ANY V-8 Fords that had door pull straps such as are shown. The straps seem to be attached to, or integral with, the window mouldings which does not at all resemble a Ford product. Also, the shape of the window opening just seems rounder than a Ford. So, my guess is some sort of a Chrysler product sedan. And, I'm thinking the year would be somewhere around '37 - '40!
"Maybe folks out there really are reading this damn thing? They just wanted to see chicks mixed in with their hot rods. Kinda like Ms. Ryan in Rodders Digest. Even more legendary... Sam
That's Ms. Ryan, in Rodder's Digest. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114299&highlight=rodders+digest+ryan
"With all the automotive knowledge here on the HAMB, who can identify what make car she was photographed in." Oh, there's a CAR in that pic? I didn't notice...
Wouldn't it be cool if we could track this lady down? Now THAT would be one HELL of an interview to post in TJJ blog... ~Jason
Ryan-- I know there are more pictures of her somewhere... This is the other Hot Rod girl of that era I always think about: I love this picture for many reasons from the Sta-Lube box streamlining on the '32 hi-boy, to the air-brushed monster sweat shirt....
I say '35 Ford tudor also. I think Ford did away with the pull straps in early '35. See this sketch from Dick Spadaro's On-line catalog
You guys are right... The '38 had door straps, but they are through the garnish moulding... I was thinking sedan was different than coupe. Apparently they aren't.
This girls name is Doris Stinson and she was a regular at the lakes with her roadster. She was married to Don Lutes, who drove the car at the lakes. Mick
