Event Coverage 75+80 Dragway set to reopen!

This is great news. I was just by there a few months ago and it was a ghost town. I can't seem to go up Rt70 to Frederick without stopping by and counting memories. I took a few pics though. C'mon Spring.

 

I've never been to 75+80, but looking forward to coming out when it opens back up.

I've done my share of racing down Greenbelt Rd by NASA and down Palmer Hwy (I grew up in Glenn Dale). Those days are LONG gone, though.

According to the manager of operations at the track they will be doing full 1/4 mile and 1/8th mile programs. They are bringing back some of the vintage race events as well.

Wow. That's too cool. Lived in Westminster til I was 5. My brother and friends probably have fond memories of it.

Man...I'm getting old...I went to an all-Ford meet there not that long ago...like 20 years ago-yep, I'm getting old.

 

Hey RC, got any pics of it lately? My brother is over in IRAQ till SEPT. and wants to see some. I showed him my Before ones. note to self: I need to ask him if he would let me bring his 67 Dart to the track..... naaaaaa, probably shouldn't even ask.

 

Heres a picture i took sunday, while it was closed, but i didn't get to take a little look around. I can't wait to race there this year, I just wish i wouldn't miss opening night.

 

I was looking at the IHRA track register and it's listed as 1/8 mi, BUT IT'S LISTED! Too far for me, but it should make a lot of folks happy. Butch/56sedandelivery.

 

Thanx Laid Back. Sweet car at the gate. I see they aint changed them yet. Yea, I can't wait either. I used to go a ton when I was small. Father & Uncle raced there.
