I'd just like to let everyone know that beginning with the April show, the NE Georgia Swap Meet will now be held the first SATURDAY of every month. Our next show is Saturday, April 4. We now return you to your regularly scheduled day, already in progress. -Brad
Yeah, they still race there on Saturday night. it'll be interesting, to say the least! I think more guys will show up on Saturday. No conflict with church, and people seem to be in a "Let's do stuff with our cars" frame of mind on Saturday, and Sunday is "Let's sit around the house." And it only snows in Georgia when a Yankee plans an outdoor event in the spring. -Brad
Great decision to move to a Saturday schedule. Watch participation of both vendors and buyers zoom up to all new levels in '09.
Hey Brad the lawson guy was by here and said something about your going to use the terraced (spel) area for the swap meet?? we had a deal at like that at a national early V/8 meet in north ga. and it worked out REALLY well for the vendors and the shoppers.
Yeah, we're using the terraced Track Side parking area. It'll be odd at first, but I think it'll work out really well. Each terrace is a touch over 3 lanes wide, so guys will easily be able to just pull their trailers or trucks straight in, and when it's time to leave, they can pull straight out. The area we were having it is used on Saturday for lining up the race rigs before they're allowed in the track, and the crew members also park over there, so it would have been a mess. Besides not dealing with church anymore on Sunday, we should draw some more of the racers and their fans, plus everyone is in a hot rod/cruise-in frame of mind on Saturday, while Sundays are about resting, church, football or NASCAR. -Brad
Five more days and counting...well, four days and a wake up call. It won't have an interior, but the Barracuda will be showing up. Smokes like a fiend after sitting for twenty years. I already picked up a HUGE package of Brats, charcoal is next. See you all on Saturday.
