I know exactly what I'd do to it. Drop it off at my shop, since you can't make up your mind.

I actually find it hard to believe that anyone who turns up with a duece hasn't built it in his or her head already. I'll probably never have one, but it's been built in my head for quite some time now. And 5 windows are my favorites to..........

3" chop and 3" channel with a bull dog front end and skinny/tall tires on steel rims! that should get you started out on the right foot.

make it a runner. you can always cut it up later. comfort is more important unless it rides on a trailer. at 6'1" what looks cool isn't always practical. if you can't see the light turn green, you can't win the race.

    Dude .....!
Ya gotta remember this is the HAMB!
    So here's what I'd do:

Chop it 'til ya can't see out of it.

Channel it 'til ya can't fit in it.

Lower it until you can "lay frame".
    (Whatever the f**k that's all about ...???)

There ya go, simple as pie!

Oh .... you mean you actually wanna drive it ....??

    How quaint !

Well, in that case .... never mind.

I guess it depends on "where your going" with this project; right or left coast, period style, mill, wheels etc. If it were mine (I wish it was) I'd go chopped Highboy.

Why is it that you asked about chopping or not and most say to channel it.
So I say, do whats in your heart.

I am building a chopped '37 slantback, but I would say no chop on yours. I'd go with completely stock body and full fenders, I love 32 five windows that way. I also have a '33 5 window unchopped. I'd be curious to know if there guys out there with chopped coupes who wished they could have them back to stock height. Don't get me wrong though....I love chops on the right car. Bill

No such thing as the "perfect chop". If you go 3 to 3 1/2 ,it will look good either as a highboy or full fendered. If fenderless, I like more of a chop. All just personal preference. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" as the saying goes. Here are two pics of my old 5W, cut 3 1/2".
