In the May 2009 issue of "Hot Rod Deluxe," there is some great 1960's gasser footage (20 cars to be exact). The premise of the article was that not all gassers were tri-fives & Willy's and there are some really neat oddball gassers there.

If anyone has any more pics/info on the 53 Olds 4 door gasser that is in the article, I would love to see it.

There were a lot more shots of this where I saw it but I must've only saved one pic.

Just found this thread and don't have time today to surf through it. But my car is a Hot Rod, an Oddball, an Altered, a bit of a Gasser and a Street Freak, too. Can't post pix, but it's been on the HAMB a few times ('61 Morris Minor). For the first time in my life, I've found a place where I fit in! Not sure if I should be too proud of that...

That whole car looks like it was plucked from a late 60s plastic model kit catalog. Too cool.

The guy that now owns the Rambler Gasser also owns this Jeep. It's all AMC with a built 401 (read the winshield to see how good it is!).

Jack Ditmars Lil Screamer is in the process of being restored. We plan to have her ready for the Legends of Drag Racing event at Union Grove, WI in June. Jack Ditmars will be there as well. Go to http://www.legendsdragracing.com/ for more info.

Anybody remember the street freak dragster? It was in an issue of Car Craft sometime around '73 - '74. Might've been built by Steve Group (Groupe?), he built a bunch of drag-car looking show rods.

Pretty crazy rig, looked like an AA/FD with some kind of people-pod stuck on the back. Custom-van looking interior, the full 70's deal.

That Godzilla 55 on post #202 was still racin' in the 80's in NHRA NED 1 when I was helpin' with dragster. Nick and Joan Hauled the 55 on a short ramp truck and trailered a Vega racecar with the ramp truck. The ass end of the 55 hung out over the tounge of the Vega trailer.
DMC, If you have any pis of their rig please post them.

I know it used to run at union Grove and possibly Rockford... This pic was taken at the Chicago WoW show sometime around 1991.

Cut those rear wheel wells out and it'd be a neat car. I don't know why today's street freakers are scared to cut the quarters. They never tubbed anything back then, and it looks stupid...
