I did a quick search and didn't see a thread about this so here it goes! Whats your favorite issue of TRJ? Mines issue #36, I've read it front to back several times and to me its just a well rounded issue. The Kookie "T", Buster Lintons coupe, "Lighting Bug", Duntovs Ardun story, and Sweet Nadine! What a spread! So anyone else have a favorite?

  2. Wow, so many. I'm going to have to go back and look at my list, but for now I'd say the next one...because that's the only one I haven't read yet!

Anyone where a brake pedal is not referred to as a "break" pedal.

  10. I thought the 32 Ford issue was a highlight but it's an impossible question, like picking your favorite kid.

All of them... I vote that, too! The Rodder's Journal far exceeds any historical hot rod magazine or journal out there. It is true to it's subject, and graciously avoids the fake-o-billy ol' skool mumbo jumbo garbage that drips from the "other" magazines.

  13. #5, The Dave Simard issue with each of his cars featured. Had a GREAT also.

  14. Number 9: I love 'em all, but to answer your question, I'd have to go with #9...only because it's the only one I don't have...I had it, but I loaned it to a guy at work, he quit and I never saw my #9 again.

I imagine it is going to really cost me a small fortune to find another #9....and nope, I don't want to buy one of the hardbound editions...I want a gen-u-wine #9...

  15. Not sure the exact date May/June 05. read it to my my Dad 2 weeks before he passed away. I have that issue in my safe. Dad was a subscriber to Hot Rod mag since 1950. Billy "Tonka" Hartman 1932-2005 With a birthdate like that how can you not be a hot rodder
He was and still is the original Hot Rod Rebel.

  16. Any issue that doesn't have a Brizio car.

    #21: the Cop Shop Coupe

It was my first issue, and there's a model a that has a wicked chop in there. the caption (off the top of my head) says something like, "we've asked all the bay area old timers and no one can identify this." It has some crazy scallops too.

    I second that.

  20. i was a late bloomer to trj and have issues from 20-42 but recently found a local dealer that still has early back issues (unfotunately none below 8) but ive budgeted for 3 issues a week till i have my collection built up to date and ill continue to hunt for the elusive first 7 on ebay and such.
but 3 new journals a week, what a treat!

To pick just one issue will be to hard. I like all issues with Pat Ganahl's historic Custom Car Articles.
They are a real treat to read and look at all the photos. From time to time I pick up those issues and read the stories again, and again.
I hope plenty more of Pat's stories will be featured in upcoming Rodder's Journal's.

And of coarse issue #33 with my first article on Kolorized Kustoms...

I don't have a favorite, but I really enjoyed Riksters colored photos especially the parking lot car show. Why? Because I have imagined what colors some of those cars were all my life.:D

Favorites? Issues 1-5 because those are the one's I'm still missing.

Lost my whole collection due to a water leak & I've replaced them all- except 1-5.

Issues 1-5 cuz they're the most valuable, $$wise.
