You might remember a post I made in November '06, we had just gotten this car in for a rebuild. It was a pretty cool old hot rod that had been parked since 1970, owned by the same people since. Original frame, dropped axle, chromed backing plates, y-block, etc. A pretty cool but pretty worn out car.

The owners brought it to us for a complete rebuild. TCI chassis, Warmed over small block and 700R4. Yeah, I know it's not what everyone would have liked for the car, but it's what they wanted. They are going to drive the car as much as they can and need the reliability. Regardless of the underpinnings, the car turned out extremely nice and is one of the best cars I think the shop has ever built.

That is a whale of a job of turning an old neglected car into an on-the-money just modern enough piece for the ages. Nice work, I'm sure the owner is ecstatic!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I didn't do a bit of work on the car though I tried to influence it as much as I could!

I'll have some more pictures tomorrow, the work computer was acting up at the end of the day.

Actually, that picture is right before the car was blown apart for paint after all the fabrication had been done, and the car was on the new chassis.

Every bit of work on this car was done in house at Sachse. The fabrication and assembly was done by Jim Wall, bodywork and paint by Anthony Goodman, interior by Mike Millsap.

It's a 2006 Mitsubishi color, Sunset Pearlescent. Or something like that. Basecoat, clearcoat.

yeah it would have been cool to hand buff out the original paint, and drive it a little. It is a super nice hot rod. Gonna be fun this summer. I like em all, short, fat, skinny, and tall.

  26. They(ford) couldn't make the panel.

Also, the car looks AWESOME. I've always loved '34 Fords.

Great car...the owners have to be pleased!! There are still lots of old rods tucked away, waiting to see daylight again.

I always figured you to be a more open minded person....yeah yeah, ruined the car, killed it's soul, raped it, whatever. I guess it could have just sat in the garage for another 40 years adding more dust to it's collection. Can't please everyone.
