its gonna depend on how low you want to go really..they will look cool. i had some on a 65 parts truck i bought. but no more than a 3" drop could be done before the front would become a problem.

Yeah, more than likely Im going to be stock for along while. maybe down a coil... or two.. maybe in a year or three the beams. we shall see about those tho. If I go with a 15 16 or even 17... im gonna go fat wheels with white walls. didnt get a great responce about those dodge wheels.. lol. Im still Eye ballin those Radirs and wide whites.... i really like that look. not sure if I want to afford that much on wheels and tires though!

Any body got any pics of there reverse off set wheels??
I like the stock wheel... or even the smoothies with bullet package and spyder ring... but I have a thing for wheels that have a deep look to em... I dont like a wheel that the front of the wheel to be flush or close to flush with the tire... its ok on a modern car... but on a classic truck I wanna see depth. I saw a set of smoothies that were reverse off set... I thought they looked nice.

Another question for you guys is what Size tire do you recommend on a 15 to get a fat look with a semi wide white... like the 2 inch or something.. that way its not a WIDE Wide white wall and its not a narrow white stripe... I havent been able to make myself like those as much as the wide whites. those double stripes were pretty cool though.

I was looking back and saw Jeems old truck... I know Ive seen these
and they are less expensive than Radirs... Are these Supremes with a matte finish inside?

speaking of swap meet isnt there one at petite jean this week?

I went to one a few months ago up there didnt find much other than some scrap. But Ive been told that this one should have more stuff??

I didnt get to go last year I was doing a Live show at AETN for WWII vets...
and we got a group that went to petite jean that had some old army jeeps from WWII to come by and park out front... the old guys got a kick out of it .. lots of pics . We debuted our Documentary IN THEIR WORDS--Their Journey. We took a group of 80 vets to Washington DC to see their Memorial... I found a few hot rod guys on the flight and chatted it up. Needless to say thier favorite part of the trip wasnt the memorial.. it was the fast paced police escorted ride through Washington DC running redlights and stop signs... it was a hoot. of course I was driving a 15 pass van with gear behind them ..... it took all that thing had to keep up! Those guys are interesting and neat to talk to.

  9. Hey I resemble that remark! ;)

I was at a car show this past weekend and spotted a truck that had some artillery wheels on it... I thought it looked nice... thought I might get your opinion.

Never seen artillary wheels on anything as new as your truck. I lik 'em, but they may not "fit" your truck. Just my 2 cents.

Dude, just do a set of these with the sidewall you like- smoothies w/caps are reasonable$$, and you can get them in just about any width, diameter, and backspacing.

I think ford had some downright cool poverty caps, too- Galaxie, etc[IMG]

I think that the Ford Nipple Cap looks good w/the design of that Truck-- I think Earlywheel sells Nipple caps that fit smoothies, too...

  17. Those are Wheel Vintiques-- but Yes, basically the same thing. The caps may be slightly different, they look a little shorter..

Also- I forgot i had this photo- chartruse smoothies w/a gennie cap. The RWL needs to go ,lol.

I still like the '49-'50 bullets on the OE style wheels, too.

Well if you want to keep a stock steel wheel with a cap but still want the 16" you can use 48 ford car rims or the old jeeps were 16 " 5 bolt I even have a set of those I run in the winter on my 78 ....lots of possibilities.

Im sport'n John Deere Blitz Black spray paint on my old steelies at the moment!

  25. Yea it doesn't really matter put what you like on it.
I mean so far what your talking is that street roddy stuff anyway.
If you want it to be trad the first thing you have to block from your brain is 16-22" wheels. Not an option in '65. Maybe 16.5s on a 3/4 Ton.

I like steel wheels on a truck if its going to be a truck.
Slots might not look too bad on it. They're cheap.

But like Cob said "Round Ones!"

  26. Looks better like this, but most vehicles look better lowered

pulled these from fordification.com.. a guy there did this swap. I dont plan on doing this... but for 20 inch steel wheels it isnt a bad deal. yeah I know the truck is off topic. lol. before I get reemed.

thanks for the advice binga... I plan to put a slight drop on it.. 3 in front and not too much in the rear.

Josh, what ya do with those 20s is paint the red stripe on the wheel, so it looks like you have red-wall tires

lol nice Duncan.. dont worry.. not goin there.. Ive got my eyes on a slots style wheel with mag or gray centers. after I get those, Im going to take my steelies down to GRT and get them blasted and powder coated... get some chrome for the wheels.

I've decided im too indecisive to have just one set of wheels. But... gotta get the truck whole before I can go there.. Kevins going to have my bed ready soon... its whole now... just needs cleaned up and sprayed in epoxy. After the new year he is going to get the truck in to get it straight and in prime... hopefully I can settle on a color by then. if not I'll settle for semi gloss black epoxy for awhile.

hope you are doing good man havent seen you around in awhile.
    hows that arm?
