Something is not right about this pic.

Part of the Balancer sticking through the back panel of this Vauxhall, but it doesnt seem to be turning.

And the exhaust pipes dont seem to be black on the inside either.

Mock up pic, photoshop, or a non working engine in the back for ballast?

    Yeah, love the mk1 Escort...:)

  3. Its sitting like that. I guess the balance point is deliberately far back. It´d probably lift the front wheels with a standard HA Viva motor! The other slight giveaway that its not running is rather more obvious - No driver!

And this one, it might not seem too unusual, but I have been looking for YEARS for a picture of a 67-69 Barracuda (I know, non-HAMB friendly) done up with a straight axle, because I wanted to do it to mine. Never found one, until I ran across this on another forum in the classified section. Anyone remember this car, Mister X?

  20. I remember the Kelvinator Hornet! I loved that car. I had one just like it, a 75 Sportabout X wagon with an early Gremlin nose and a halfway decently worked 304 and a "grump lump" hood scoop, black with white stripe kit. Ran at Englishtown in 89, best of 12.04, then got impounded by the cops in Chester, NY when they towed it after my alternator went in the middle of the night in the pouring rain. They wanted $600 in towing and impound fees, and I just couldn't come up with the money, I was a dirt-poor kid. Wonder if anything ever happened to it? Still pissed about it, I can never let my anger go...

Got a video from the late Jocko Johnson that shows this car crashing, guess it should not have been unexpected...

  27. Metalshapes, where did you get the Bill's Speed Shop Tbird pic?
That's really cool, I've never seen a pic of the car that "early" I've only seen it with the S/S's on it.
Thanks for starting this thread, it rocks!
