A friend of a friend is parting out a 57 olds 2 door. Im picking up the front seat for my 56 chevy because Im pretty sure it will work. Is anything else on that car useable for a 56 chevy, such as the new rockers he has in a box. Or are any of the parts desireable that I should pick up for a rainy day to help finance my project?

I would grab the dash and steering column for sure and all the drive train. The 57 olds dashes are cool.

If any of you guys need anything off it and I mean anything give me a holler. he has the whole thing dissassembled. His basement and garage look like a swap meet.

  4. Almost nothing interchanges with a Chevy, the generator might work for you, and the rearend would bolt in but has the wrong lug pattern; that's about it.

Who parts out a 2-door? That's what 4-doors are for.

He gave up on the project and is moving. I wish I would have heard about it before he stripped it completely apart. I met him today and walked in on him cutting the frame in pieces to scrap it. It was a running 2 door super 88:mad:

The rear end will fit, but the spring hangers will need to be moved; they're not like a 57' Pont that will bolt right in. It'll be a 29 spline axle assembly, but the housing is narrower than the 59-64 rears. The Hydramatic would be a slant pan; harder to find than the flat pans. Butch/56sedandelivery.

Butch is right about the rear, but is still a decent item to have. If it were a few hours closer, I'd be interested in the rear.
How about the engine? If the trans is decent/working. all the trim pieces etc... All of this stuff would bring in a few dollars to help finance your next project, or could be used for trading.
