  1. I use to go to VLV for the show, but now I go to LSRU. if you want music go to Viva, if you want an all around kick ass show go the the roundup.

  2. I met Tom Ingram back in the Rockaound days. Trust me, he is not getting wealthy on this. He's just making a living just like the rest of us.
If you don't want to attend that's your right but please don't bash what he does for us and don't bash Tom.
Like I said, he's not getting rich on this just giving us a place to go and hang with our friends, make some new ones and see folks that we haven't seen in a long time.
    Cheers! :D

OK! im gonna be man enough to apologize about my ignorance i just read the rules that A32FLATHEAD posted and everything makes more sense to me now.
I thought they were charging 35$ a head for pedestrians, i was wrong, it's 5$!! i should have read before goin' off!! 5$ to 15$ for a car show is very acceptable. so, im sorry for my blow out!!!

  6. We have a room booked for a couple of days for Viva.
Our plan is to drive back to Corona after Viva, freshen up and head to the Lone Star Roundup in Austin TX.
Check it out! You may want to extend your stay in the U.S. ;)

I have been the last few years and after seeing all that goes into this event, $89 for the entire weekend is cheap. See ya there!

    Exactly Dave.

As a guy who used to put on a show, NOWHERE near the scale of VLV, and I had drag racing with vintage diggers and a nitro funny car, anything like this costs a shitload to put on and I doubt many really know what it takes operationally as well as all the marketing and other shit that goes into it......you want a free show, try puttin on your own.

Axle and Tom work really F!&^$#& hard to bring this show here every year....you dont like it, dont f!%$#@ show up.

    My $.02

  9. Bite me jackass! I asked a question, I have been in the past and will still go. how about answering the question!! I applaude the guys for putting on the show.

You obviously have never even tried to put on a show. These dudes aren't making much money off of this if any. We've been over and over this about all the shows. Axle busts his ass and I'm sure doesn't get close to minimum wage for the time he puts into this. Everyone wants to question and make it look like their making a mint. LOL, I bet the security bill eats up almost all that money...

Like someone said just view it as "preferred parking"...

If you don't want to pay 35.00 or 85.00 dollars then why don't you get a friend that is buying a wrist band and not taking a car show to put your car in the show with his or her wrist band? The only thing is they have to drive it in the show for you and best of all your car will be safe all weekend and all you have to pay is 5.00 bucks on saturday for you to go in. Just my two cents.

I had to fly to VLV the last few years cause I could'nt get enough time off work to drive out from Missouri. I would have loved to pay the 35 bucks for my car to be there. Now I'm layed off work and can't even fly. Anybody who is within driving distance to the show and is bitching about 35 fuckin dollars is a disgrace to our great auto passion. You have obviously forgotten why you even bought that first project car years ago. Quit playing crybaby and pay the people who take the time and deal with the trouble to make this show happen. Besides that 35 bucks to stare at hotties all day is cheaper than a strip club.

TRADITIONAL or "rat rodders" crying about paying to show is just as bad as BILLET rodders crying cuz they didn't get a trophy. Oh, whaaa, it's not fair. Lifes not fair, get over it and be happy your car made it to the show. See you at VLV show with PBR in hand.

To answer your question honestly. No it wasn't me that did that. In fact i wasn't even there that particular year. That said, it was a member in my club that ran over a sprinkler and was then given an outrageous bill . A check in the amount of $200 was offered to fix that one sprinkler and i can't remember if that offer was accepted or not.....been so long ago i forgot all about that.

Sorry some of your are offended about having to pay to get in to our Viva Las Vegas car show. Don't know what else to say that hasn't been said already.
It does indeed cost money to put something on of this magnitude - and to incur the costs there just simply has to be fee's.

I host an event but of different activity. Generally the public don't realize the stress the promoter goes through. With that said, the money one makes pays for the anguish he (and people around him) endures. Go Axle! Vic

I miss the old shifters anti-blessing. A ten minute drive, sit on the grass, and no one bitching. Although come to think of it, i'm sure someone found something to whine about, they always do.

No kidding Boots! Some people must think that bitching relentlessly about something will change it, or maybe it just makes them feel better. Maybe these same people are trying to destroy something they have nothing to do with, just to see it go down. Sometimes hanging out at the HAMB is like listening to my ex-wife: BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH...

VLV has had so much negative said about it over the years its surprising that it's still going, yet it continues to grow every year. Gee... they must be doing something right.

I will be there paying whatever $$ and Be Happy ,That I am not having to promote it. Remember the old line about " Walk a Mile in his Shoes" I have done some small H-D Ride Fund Raisers for a small school schlorship fund.
The planning and work involved is a 365 /24/7 job and if you put the $$$ vs. Time involved ... well ... no one works for that cheap of has near as many issues!!!
A 4 days for $ 98 or whatever and plenty to keep me off the Casino Floor. I $$$ ahead already..

What negative can be said about it ? This will be my first year but damn, over a thousand old cars, bands, vendors of all sorts, woman, and cool people having a good time........ and it is VEGAS !!!! So far, I can't find anything negative about any of that. I am looking forward to meeting some cool people and having a few beers with everyone.

This thread shows there are ignorant people in this world. These shows are put on for we the hobbist the ones who build the cars, plan to build the cars,, to show off our desgin, our talent, (or someone elses with our wallet), To me they are not put on for the spectators, They are for the car builders, The ones who put thousands of dollars, and time into these shows for us. To make these shows bigger and better for us. so the reason you are charged 35 89 how ever much is. They put there money up to bring us the show so we can go and show what we have. Because we want to show it. We want to be apart of it. So in turn if you the entrant didnt have to pay to show your car keep in (mind you wanted your car in that show), and only charged the spectators, lets say the show cost 150000. 1000 cars attend that is 89000. 25000 people attend and charge them 5 thats 125000. Means i profitted 64000 dollars. But I just had a great show that year after year, people will mark on their calander to go to. So in you dont understand i would not put my show on if i was to lose money ever year. Because you want to show your car for free instead then we wouldnt have these shows. Then we car guys wouldnt have a place to show our work, time, passion, lifestyle, our hobby, that we love so much, and to be with others alike from all over the world. Thats why we pay to show in my mind others may disagree, but this is my opinion. I would love to go to Viva but at this time I am not able, so to all that attend good luck have fun and keep our hobby alive. And jsut pay the 89 it will be worth it. LOL
