Yeah we had them mounted in about 5 different spots and spent a few hours screwing around with the bracket set up and different areas to mount. I went with the stock position because I felt like they looked funky out further. But I agree with you they do cover up the grill horns and that bothered me too. Thanks man.

My brother is about twice my size and trust me man I have tried to do that but I fail over and over again. If you saw him pinstripe you might want to keep him around.

Isn't that a factory 33-34 grille guard? Man I would run them, dresses the car up a little without being trashy. Without it just looks a little plain.
    Doc.

Yeah good eye. The guard and the fog lights came off the 34 my buddy had.

I like the lights, but not the guard...

  14. I put a grille guard on my 47 Plymouth one time.....left it for a while.....got tired of
it and took it back off. Have some NOS Dietz 6" fog lights, but haven't decided to
use them either. So, it's whatever you like. Nice looking car.
    You can probably
make your own door panels with vinyl to match your seats. Just be plain and simple,
but would match and cover the doors. You can get some fairly heavy cardboard
for backing at Hobby Lobby. At Lowe's Home Center, they have some
carpeting that looks pretty good.....not expensive.

I kind of like the look with the fog lights. I'd say go for it.

Forget about the guard, sell the car, go back to school, get married, have 2.3 kids, get in debt up to your eyeballs and when your son blows his tuition money on a car, get a plate that says "it's Dad's".

I like it with the lights and gaurd.

  23. I like the minimal look but being spoiled with my 00 Ranger I vote for the driving lights aimed to the ditches! Seldom need my highbeams. In fact, my Model A will get one good driving light down low for deer and Mt Lions.

More is more. I definitely like the car better with. Super shaved cars are an 80's holdover, a little trim here and there adds to the look and those pieces fit the car perfectly.

Nice job on the car, well done. Good to know you did go to college after all, I spent my college savings on a house when I was 18 and then worked through school.

I have fog lights and factory grille guards for my '40 Chrysler and I'm definitely running them, just looks "right" that way. And just like others have said, if you get bored with it and want to change up the look a bit you can take them off later. But I much prefer with.

I like it with the lights but without the bar. But hey, it's your car and it will look great either way.

I am "the brother". This was already done. The photos were old and off my cell phone. We ended up trimming the threads so they are flush with the bottom of the bumper and it looks much better.

Since my position was already stated in the original post I thought it appropriate to point out that while the like/dislike numbers are about 50/50 (as expected) I agree with everybody that says something along the line of run what you want because it is your car!!!!!! That is the one thing I was telling lowtech36 even when I was verbally bashing his choice.

Dare I admit they are growing on me???????
