This car may have belong to the legend of the electric Ax , and Big Cock's
Jimmy M Hendrix name on 1929 Ford Title
Town of Battleground Washington which he was known to live in.

His name was James Marshall Hendrix

This may be complete bulshit....I know the guy and I trust what he has told me. He has a Signature on the title and is trying to verify. Here is the Portland Craigs List info.

Not saying it isnt possible but I really doubt that. I mean, if there was real reason to believe the car was his then it would be worth a lot more than 950.... kinda makes me think there's somethin wrong there, lol

I've read both biographys about Jimmi Hendrix and there was never any mention of any cars in either book.

Stranger things have happened! Would be cool to verify the story though.

  11. At this time in space there are 300 James hendrix living in the United States according to the White Pages,,,don't have a clue as to how my have met their maker,,,,I would say the odds are against it ever belonging to Jimi Hendrix. HRP

Even if it was his, without any photos of him with it documenting "for sure" it was his the price is about right. Now show me a photo of him with it then you can start adding some zeros to the price.

Hmm, being a Hendrix fan and having read all I could about him I have never heard of him owning a Hot Rod. That does not mean he never owned one though. The clincher for me comes from Eric Burdon who was and is car crazy. He and Jimi were very close mates, In Eric's book he talks at length about his cars, Steve McQueens cars (Another good mate of Eric's) and even Kennith Howard and his cars (Another mate).
There is not a single mention of Hendrix ever owning a Rod or even being interested in cars.
Ironically the car in the clip is Eric Burdons, his car of choice? Corvette, even having new models sent to him when he lived in the Islands of Spain!
I think its just a chance thing, hell in an Army of 20 thousand there were 11 people with the same name as me, four of them with the same middle name!!

His last name was Hendricks. He called himself Jimi Hendrix later on.
Who knows if he ever legally changed the name and what name he used on a title.
He left WA when he enlisted in the army in 1961 when he was 19.
What year was that title issued?

He was born John Allen Hendricks.
When his father Al returned from the Army, he renamed him James Marshall.
    His mother was Cherokee.
After the army he started touring the "Chitlin Circuit" in 1963 and hasn't resided in WA state again.
Rather doubtful that the title on that car was issued to him.

You ever seen the condition of Buddy Holly's '58 chevy when it was found?

I'm not saying the car in this thread was owned by Hendrix but the shape it's in means nothing.

You know I always thought that 'Let me stand nest to your fire' was about wanting to get a chick in bed but not wanting a relationship.
It was written after he had to run through a rain storm to an ex-girlfriends house, it literally was a some about getting next to a fire!
The thing I like about Jimi, he was a god to the conscientious objectors and hippies and all along he supported the US in Viet Nam and never made a secret of it. It helps to that he was a Paratrooper, tough as nails!
But all this is a little O/T!
Hey, check the owners T shirt. If theres tire marks all across his back. you can see he had his fun and it may prove it was Jimis car?
Or he chopped it down with the edge of his hand? Who knows, maybe it wasn't a wheelchair she drew to the shore, it was an A model, and it went over the edge?
Man.... this is some good shit...................Purple Haze, all in my brain.............
    Doc.
