You've got the carbuilding idea down pretty good, but the finish work, you know, body work and paint would make that a really neat truck.

That's a major league long pitman arm.

Nice truck, and the chick isn't a rat by any means.

It's like pasadenahotrod says,, the car still has potential. I see some thought, fabrication, and good parts. The only bummer I see on the down side is the wire wheels not supported on the centers,, could get you into trouble.

    I agree -
You've done some nice work, there.

You can go back and edit that one last word out of the title of this thread and you won't catch so much flack.

    Welcome to the HAMB....

THE "R" word is: RAT! The HAMB is supposed to be dedicated to traditional build style hot rods, of which you are well on your way! However the word RAT should only be used in a phrase like: " It's not a fucking RAT rod, it's just not finished"! Also don't ever take comments personal, take it as education, some of us grumpy old farts can be abrupt.:)

I wouldn't really call that a rat rod. Rat rods tend to be way more over the top than that. Just looks like it's heavily patinaed to me, which I like. Looks good!

  22. the pic of the rear end is a bit fuzzy, but how are you stopping the rear from wanting to rotate and put all the stress on the wishbone?

Please explain regarding the wheels lack of support

I'll let it "rotate" if it chooses.

  24. I wish new guys would spend some time familiarising themselves with the site before posting. Actually, it says to do that in the 'READ THIS FIRST' section.

and if everyone was perfect.....The guy has a nice start on a Hot Rod Pickup.

I'll let it "rotate" if it chooses. What the fly was trying to get at...The rear housing needs a top retaining rod. IE a three bar set up. Or add two and make it a 4 bar setup.
Under hard acceleration the rear will rotate and put stress on the housing.
Leaf spring cars wrap the springs up under hard acceleration. Most people attempt to cure that with traction bars.

Well, look at it like this; it's their site, we invited ourselves to be here, the least we can do is learn the rules so we can play well with others.

There's nothing "rat" about your rig (going by the now popular definition of that word as applied to cars). You've got a nice truck there.

Welcome, this really is a neat place, lots to see and learn...:)
