Damn!!! Callin' me out!! You have no idea how fast you turn into to a cold weather pussy living in Austin!! I lived in St. Louis for three years, and that was some real cold. Here, 40 degrees is parka weather! I will admit I'm not that into 4 months of 100 degree plus weather in the summer, but this town thins your blood fast. I hope all you northeast guys have heaters in your shops. I laughed at my shopemate when he brought in a kerosine powered heater a few months ago, but I have used the shit out of it the last few weeks! Kerosine ain't cheap either. I was joking about the "raw" weather here the last few days, but it is kinda comical when one small freeze shuts the whole town down for three days. As my boy Lux put it, you don't know fear until you're on icy streets with Texans!!
I got stuck in my driveway had to pull it out with my jeep. The little banger was fun in the snow. cant what til spring later Bill
I drove my 34 all winter long... I'm building the little A pickup to replace my winter ride... salt wipes off... I love the pics below... slicks and snow dont mix, looking down the cable of my c-60 wrecker... Dr. Hook rules and so does the sound of a flathead... god I love flatheads...
I'd send a pic, but we had gotten 40 inches of snow in less than 24 hours. After a little wind to level things out, we had to look for our vehicles. The only way we found them was to remember about where they were last we'd seen them and dig in that direction. The roads were sort of open 3 days later.
5 years ago here is my henry J before it was built. before I got home , the snow plow got stuck in front of my house. so the payloader that got him out put all the snow on my car what a dick here is what it looks like now
I have been thinking about building up an A PU myself. I would build it with year around use in mind, NO aluminum. Fill the bed with sand bags in the winter. I don't use the coupe year around because all the floorboards, and lots of my brackets, and lines are aluminum. One 5 mile ride in salt plays hell with that stuff, I know from personel experince. .
Here's mine when I rescued it from this sort of mess in Colorado last Feb. It won't likely ever see this again. Somewhere is KS, east bound .. She's in FL now. Don't have that kind of stuff here. I grew up in it back in the 40's & 50's though ..
One of my high school rides after a synchronized parking lot ballet performance went badly... My other high school ride going back together in an unheated garage with fresh paint. Had to roll it out for some pics.Managed to make opening day at Quaker City Dragway in May too...
